CFAO MALAWI LIMITED
In May 2002, CFAO SA of France purchased the entire operations of the
Mandala Motors Group. This acquisition included the operational assets
of the aut
CFAO was created in 1887 with the establishment of
"Compagnie Française de l'Afrique Occidentale”
and started general trade operations in 1888 in various West African
countries. CFAO have now expanded into Central and East African
territories and currently operate in 29 African countries and six French
overseas departments and territories. CFAO SA is one of the oldest brand
names in the Business to Business division of the
PPR Group (formerly the Pinault-Printemps-Redoute group) who are the European leader in
specialised distribution, which CFAO joined in 1990. In addition to
CFAO, other notable names within
the PPR group include: Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney,
Alexander McQueen, Printemps, Redcats, FNAC, Conforama, Sergio Rossi,
and Bottega Veneta among other prestigious brands.
SALES DEPARTMENT
Our sales departments are managed exclusively by highly trained Malawian
staff who have achieved remarkable success in penetrating the local
sales market, supplying major companies and Government departments with
all of their transportation requirements. With CFAO Malawi holding a
broad range of vehicles and equipment we feel we can satisfy all of your
transportation, haulage or construction equipment requirements. We hold
in stock at any time in excess of 100 vehicles to choose from, all in a
varying range of colours and specifications.
AFTERSALES DEPARTMENT
Our service and parts operations are managed by both Malawian and
Expatriate Service and Parts Managers. Factory trained Malawian
technicians receive constant ongoing technology updates and refresher
courses through our own training school and regularly updated training
instruction courses from visiting factory-based training staff.
We currently employ over 125 staff in our Aftersales operations, who collectively possess a broad range of knowledge and expertise, both on our own franchise marques as well as those of other manufacturers in other areas of the motor industry.

Mandala is probably one of the best known names in Malawi having been
established back in 1878 by the holding company, The African Lakes
Corporation, a Glasgow based corporation who established general trade
with Malawi, then known as Nyasaland.
